| -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I’m Willi and I’m from Detmold in the area of Bielefeld (Germany) and I took part in the LIFT Discipleship School. The reason that I went to Steiger was that I wanted to rediscover the fire that I once had for God (to live in a good, intimate relationship with Him) and to discover my gifts. There were so many questions about God that I just couldn’t find an answer to and that were making me angry with Him. I totally longed for him and for a good relationship with Him. But I also kept noticing how pointless life is without God and that things went well when my relationship was right with Him (Although there can still be a lot of problems and everything isn’t perfect). In the time spent at LIFT I recognized God for the huge God that he is – a God that doesn’t have to defend Himself to anyone and that we will never be able to completely understand – otherwise He wouldn’t be God. On the other side it became clear to me that He insanely loves humans and only has the best intentions for us. All that we have to do to have a purposeful life is to believe on Him, what He promises us in the Bible, and to strive for a deeper relationship with Him. I got to know myself and my personality better. A year ago I always used to stutter when talking with people and thought »Man, people fall asleep when they talk with me«. Now I know that I can preach and that my strength is a sense of humor and talking with others. Though it can drive you crazy, living in a close-knit community taught me to talk about what bothered me and not to be sarcastic with others. Instead, you should address things kindly and in love. It was also good to get to know other churches and nice people. I really have to say that the time here did a lot for me and that I’m very glad to have been there. God be with you. |
